Are there language translation apps that work without an internet connection?

I'm looking for a mobile app that can help me with language translation, but my travels will often take me to places with limited or no internet connectivity. Are there language apps available that have offline functionality, and how effective are they?

I would also recommend apps like SayHi and Papago.

  • SayHi Translate provides translations in many languages and works offline for certain popular languages. It's user-friendly with a voice input feature, making it easy for conversation translation.

  • Papago is excellent for Asian languages. It supports Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and more, and offers offline translations for text.

Remember, while offline, these apps mostly handle text translation, but some like Google Translate offer offline camera translation, though with varying accuracy. It's always a good idea to test the functionality off-line at home before relying on them abroad, just to ensure it meets your needs.
