What are some settings and things you should tweak when first setting up Apple Watch?

I just bought an Apple Watch and I'm about to set it up for the first time. I've heard that there are some important settings and customizations that can enhance the experience and improve battery life. What are some recommendations for settings I should consider adjusting right away? Any tips on apps or features I should enable or disable?

Decide which apps are critical and which ones you can do without. Head to the Watch app on your iPhone > Notifications, and customize accordingly.

Customize your watch face to suit your needs. Long press on the watch face, tap 'Customize', and select different styles and added complications (like weather, calendar, or activity tracker).

Activate Do Not Disturb during meetings or sleep. You can sync these settings with your iPhone for seamless adjustments.

On your Watch app, under App Layout, drag icons to organize or switch to list view for a more ordered display.

Go to Settings > Privacy to adjust settings like location services and app permissions to your preferences.

If you want to save some battery or prefer a simpler display, go to Settings > Accessibility. Also, adjust Text Size to your comfort.

If you're into fitness, ensure that fitness tracking is enabled and tweak your health profile for more accurate data.

Decide whether you want Siri to respond via voice or button. You can customize these settings under Settings > Siri.

Swipe up on the watch face to access the Control Center. Here, you can add or remove controls for swift navigation.

Enable Power Reserve mode in Control Center when your battery is low. Also, check Battery Health in Settings > Battery.

Make sure haptic feedback is strong enough to notice. Adjust under Settings > Sounds & Haptics.

Be mindful about which apps you install on your watch. Some apps might drain your battery faster.

Ensure that Emergency SOS is set up (Settings > Emergency SOS) for safety reasons.

If you use Apple Pay, setting it up on the watch allows you to pay directly with a wrist flick.

Customize wake screen options based on your preference and battery saving needs (Settings > Display & Brightness).

Enter the Activity app and set your Move, Exercise, and Stand goals.

Ensure you're reminded to start or stop workout sessions (Watch app on iPhone > Workout).

Turn on hand washing detection (Settings > Handwashing) to ensure you're staying safe!

Choose between Recents or Favorites for your Dock's appearance for quicker app access (Watch app on iPhone > Dock).
